May 27, 2024. This morning, during Professor Salvatore Viscuso’s course (DABC PoliMi) – “Laboratorio di Costruzione dell’Architettura (Architecture Lab)” at the Politecnico di Milano, I delivered a lecture addressing themes closely related to Computational Design and Environmental Design (what I refer to as C+E Design).
💡🗝️🎢✨
The computational approach to design, broadly speaking, and particularly within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry, represents one of the most significant shifts in technological paradigms over the last 10-15 years. I find it very promising that academic institutions, thanks to teachers who are increasingly engaged in both the digital world and architectural design, are directing their attention toward this rapidly growing disciplinary field.

I was pleased to share my vision, experiences, and projects from both the academic realm and professional practice. Personally, I believe that sharing knowledge and experiences, following Negroponte ’s motto (“demo or die, not publish or perish”), remains the best way to demonstrate how deeply cultural practices are now rooted in the new technological culture—especially in Italy.
I extend my heartfelt thanks to Salvatore Viscuso for this captivating morning. I hope I piqued the students’ curiosity…to “be curious” and not aspire to become ordinary “professional monkeys”.
Ad Maiora Semper! 🧐🙌🏼
